Güipiles

The blouses are typical or woven tunic blouses worn by Mayan women as clothing, are made on a loom. The Mayan blouses are the most important part of the traditional dress (traditional dress) and the clearest expression of the native tissue. The fabric, design and style of each of the blouses represent the village they come from women who wear them.

The Mayan woman can spend months weaving a single blouses. Through the choice of colors, techniques and design can read the story of the weavers, birthplace, religion, social status, personality and ability to weave.

Through the use of traditional dress, the Mayan people make a personal statement of individuality within their community. Each huipil is a unique piece of art!
